Warriors Come Back to Sink Shipmen

The West Kelowna Warriors erased a 3-1 deficit after the opening 20 minutes in a 7-4 victory over the Nanaimo Clippers Saturday at Frank Crane Arena.
Sheldon Rempal had a pair of 1st period goals, as Tanner Campbell had the game tied at one, before Chris Dodero and Rempal’s 2nd gave the Clippers the lead.
West Kelowna tied the game at 3 in the middle frame, as Rylan Yaremko scored on the power play at 7:14, before Reed Gunville faked a slap shot, then beat Jakob Walter at 12:32.
Kylar Hope sparked the Warriors early on in the 3rd period with a goal just 53 seconds in, getting his own rebound off a blocked shot and putting it past Walter.
Then, it was Yaremko’s 2nd of the night from the point to go up 5-3, and Liam Blackburn on the power play made it 6-3.
Johnathan Desbiens scored an empty netter after Zach Court made it 6-4 on the power play.
The Warriors will look for 4 points on the weekend when they head to Victoria on Sunday afternoon to face the Grizzlies. Puck drops at 2:00 pm, pre-game at 1:40 on www.mixlr.com/bchlwarriors.
