Are you looking for a summer program that allows you to maximize your development while also enjoying your Okanagan summer? Then the Warriors High Performance Summer Program with an added Power Edge Pro component is perfect for you! With weekday practice times and workouts in the evening and a late morning optional Saturday scrimmage and workout, this program allows you to get what you need to get done during the day while still honing in your development and giving yourself the best opportunity to make it to the next level.

The West Kelowna Warriors are happy to announce the return of the Summer HPT program with an added Power Edge Pro component. This Summer program will start June 19th with 2 weeks of off-ice high performance training equalling 12 hours. At the end of the 2 weeks the program will shift to a hybrid on ice / off ice approach with an optional Friday scrimmage & workout. On ice work starts July 3rd and runs until August 25th. This program includes a total of 35 off ice training hours and 30.5 on ice training hours.

Format
The HPT-PEP Summer Program will consist of three age groups. The age groups will be paired and range from Jr College – 02,03,04,05 & Jr Prep – 05,06,07,08. The program will run from June 19th – August 24th 2023 and will be on Monday & Wednesday evenings around 6 – 9 PM with an optional Friday scrimmage and workout. This program will be held at Royal Lepage Place in West Kelowna in the beautiful Okanagan Valley.

Coaches Bio
This Spring Development Program will be run by Warriors AC & AGM Ayrton Nikkel, who prior to coaching, spent four years in the WHL while splitting his final seasons between the ECHL, the BCHL and the CIS. During Ayrton’s playing career, he won a gold medal with Team BC at the Canada Winter Games and competed with Team Pacific at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge. Ayrton has also spent a significant amount of time working in youth skill development and loves teaching all aspects of the game. Wyatt Head, who spent the last 2 seasons with the Mercyhurst Lakers in the NCAA DIV 1 league. Before going to Mercyhurst Wyatt spent 4 years with the BCHL West Kelowna Warriors playing in almost 150 games as a defenceman, winning Defenceman of the year in 2018/19. Tyler Mosienko spent the past two seasons with the Okanagan Rockets U17 AAA team of the BC Elite Hockey League, leading them to the provincial finals last season. Prior to coaching Mosienko had a very successful playing career. He began his career playing five seasons with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL where he won two WHL Championships. He then went on to play seventeen seasons of professional hockey in the AHL, ECHL, and several European leagues. A Kelowna, BC native, Josh is familiar with the BC Hockey League and the area, having played his minor hockey in the Okanagan while suiting up in over 200 career games in the BCHL. Josh comes with a variety of hockey & fitness experience.
