WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors are unable to pull off the upset Tuesday night as the Vees skate off with a 5-2 victory.

The game started great for the Warriors with John Evans scoring his first shorthanded goal of the season. The Vees were cycling the puck in the Warriors zone but then Brendan Pigeon would poke the puck away finding John Evans springing loose on breakaway beating Yaniv Perets to make it 1-0 Warriors after one period of play.

The Warriors started the second period on the man advantage but couldn’t capitalize. The Vees would take over the period from there scoring 5 goals. First it was Darwin Lakoduk on the powerplay, then Drew Elser scoring his first of the year, then Jay O’Brien would add a pair. The Warriors would cut the lead with Tyler Cristall finding John Evans on a two on one to make things interesting but Vees forward Tyler Ho would put the period to bed with a late goal to give the Vees a 5-2 lead heading into the dressing room.

The Vees controlled play throughout the third not allowing muchy for Warriors scoring chances. The game would finish with a 5-2 Vees victory.

Final shots on goal: 42-29 in favor of the Vees.
