GAME #3 RECAP: WARRIORS SILENCE KAL TIRE PLACE MONDAY

VERNON B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors defeat the Vernon Vipers by a score of 6-2 Monday night.

The Warriors got off to the start they needed with a pair of goals. First Tyler Cristall was able to crash the net and back hand a puck past Vipers goaltender Roan Clarke to make it 1-0 on the powerplay. Then with just over 5 minutes remaining Christophe Farmer would steal the puck inside the Vipers zone and find an open Brennan Nelson who also scored with a back hand attempt through the five hole of Clarke to make it 2-0 Warriors. The Vipers would score one late courtesy of Seiya Tanaka Campbell taking a pass from behind the Warriors net beating Johnny Derrick cutting the lead in half heading into the second frame.

In the second period, the Vipers would tie it up with Seiya Tanaka Campbell scoring his 2nd of the game to tie it up at two. The Warriors would restore their lead when Chase Dafoe flew past the Vipers defender beating Clarke. 10 minutes later Christophe Farmer would take a pass from Felix Trudeau and wire one off the post and in to make it 4-2 on the powerplay.

In the third The Warriors are unable to score off a full 2 minute two man advantage giving the Vipers some serious momentum but goaltender Johnny Derrick shut the door stopping 33 of 35 shots faced. The Warriors would add a pair in the third courtesy of Elan Bar Lev Wise with assists from Farmer.

FINAL SHOTS: 42-35 Warriors.
