WEST KELOWNA B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors 7 game winning streak came to an end after suffering a 6-3 loss to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks Friday night.

The Silverbacks opened the scoring with Brandon Santa Juana scoring his 6th of the season to make it 1-0. The Warriors would tie things up later on with Elan Bar Lev Wise scoring his 9th of the year with under three minutes remaining.

The Warriors would score a pair in the second. First, Pat Lawn was able to score his 4th goal of the season which would deflect off the body of a Silverbacks player and in to make it 2-1 Warriors. Then Simon Tassy would once again tie it up after the Warriors were unable to clear the puck out of their zone. Late in the second frame the Warriors fourth line would score a goal. Cameron Hicklin would skate the puck inside the Silverbacks zone and find an open Riley Sharun who scored his 2nd goal in as many nights to give the Warriors a 3-2 lead heading into the third period.

The third frame was all Silverbacks. After the Silverbacks blue liner Mike Ladyman drew a penalty he would score his 2nd of the season after going coast to coast beating Johnny Derrick on the short side to tie the game at three. 15 seconds later the Warriors would turn the puck over allowing Simon Tassy to score his second of the game on a breakaway giving the Silverbacks their first lead of the game since early in the first period. After the Warriors spent the next 10 minutes pressuring inside the Silverbacks zone Noah Serdachny and Simon Tassy would catch a break on an odd man rush with Serdachny scoring giving the Silverbacks a 5-3 lead. Simon Tassy would later score the hatrick goal on an empty net play to give the Silverbacks a 6-3 victory.
