West Kelowna, B.C. – Warriors Tyler Cristall’s overtime goal proved to be the difference in a 4-3 victory over the Prince George Spruce Kings Tuesday night.

The Warriors came out flying with a goal early on from Chase Dafoe after John Evans and Tyler Cristall were able to create an offensive zone turnover leaving Dafoe all alone. Just over six minutes later the great forechecking would continue with Alexi Van Houtte-Cachero stealing the puck and finding Nick Roukounakis to make it 2-0 early on. The Spruce Kings would cut the lead to one after Austin Fraser was able to beat Johnny Derrick late in the first.

The second period was all Warriors, but it was the Spruce Kings who scored the lone goal. While on a penalty kill Killian McGregor-Bennett was able to pick up the loose puck and put it past the Warriors goaltender Derrick to tie the game up at two. In the 2nd period alone the Warriors were able to put up 23 shots on Spruce Kings goaltender Jordan Fairlie.

The Warriors and Spruce Kings each traded a goal in the third with Nick Roukounakis and Austin Fraser both scoring their second goals of the game forcing overtime inside Royal LePage Place. In the extra frame Tyler Cristall was able to put the puck between the legs of the defender and backhand the puck past Fairlie in what was an exciting finish to an excellent hockey game.

The Warriors cap off the preseason with a two game set versus the Vipers Vipers this Friday night. That game will take place at 7:00pm. General admission tickets are only $10. Fans can catch the action on  BCHLTV (formally HockeyTV) or on the free internet radio stream on Mixlr.
