Westside Warriors Week Preview

The Westside Warriors of the B.C. Hockey League have a busy week ahead with four games on tap, all of them against BCHL Interior Conference opponents.

The Warriors won its only game of the weekend with a convincing 7-1 victory over Prince George on Friday night and enters the week tied for fourth place in the BCHL Interior.

This week Westside gets things going early with a Tuesday night home game.

The Warriors host Penticton on Tuesday in a rematch of last Wednesday's 3-1 win by Pentciton over the Warriors. The Warriors and Vees enter the game tied for fourth place in the Interior Conference with 41 points apiece. Westside has a 19-13-0-3 record while Penticton is 18-11-0-5.  Tuesday night will be “Twoonie Tuesday” – all alcoholic beverages are just 2 bucks!!!

Following Tuesday's game the Warriors will play three games in three nights beginning on Friday when they host the Merritt Centennials (5-28-0-2) in the opening half of home and home series. Friday night the two teams play at Royal LePage Place in Westside at 7 p.m. before travelling to Merritt for the rematch on Saturday.  Just a reminder that Friday's game vs. Merritt will be the annual Teddy Bear toss.  Please bring a teddy bear to toss on the ice when the Warriors score their first goal of the game.  All bears will be donated to the Boys and Girls club.

The Warriors return home to play the Trail Smoke Eaters on Sunday Dec. 14 (2:30 p.m. Royal LePage Place). The Smoke Eaters begin the week two points better than the Warriors.
