The West Kelowna Warriors are proud to announce over $6000 was raised at the 1st Annual Alumni Golf/Hockey Weekend presented by Tim Hortons.
Exactly $6372.83 was left after paying all the bills to host the three day hockey and golf event in June.
The entire organization would like to thank all the sponsors, participants, volunteers, and of course past players & coaches who made the Alumni Weekend possible.
Money raised will be split amongst West Kelowna Minor Hockey, West Kelowna KidSport, and the new Warriors Alumni Fund.
$2686.41 will go to KidSport to help local youth play sports in our community.
The same amount will go to West Kelowna Minor Hockey to help them make the name change process easier this year.
Finally, $1000 will go to the new Warriors Alumni Fund operated by former Captain’s Max French & Joel Woznikoski.
Each year a current player on the Warriors roster, who is going to College, can apply through Joel & Max for a $500 bursary. While the other $500 will go to a former Warriors player currently playing at the collegiate level.
Andrew Deans, Warriors Director of Operations & Tournament Director, will be joined by Max French and Justin Schultz to make the cheque presentation to Minor Hockey & KidSport.
The cheque presentation will happen at the Annual Hockey Swap happening at Ultimate Hockey & Skate this Sunday, August 25th at 9:30am.
The Hockey Swap happens from 8:30am-1pm on Sunday with proceeds going to KidSport.
Then later that night the Warriors open the Exhibition Schedule versus the Penticton Vees at RLP. Game time is 7pm. Admission is $5 a ticket, and free if you are a season ticket holder.
The Warriors close the Exhibition Schedule at home on Saturday, August 31st versus the Vernon Vipers at 7pm.
