For Immediate Release May 3, 2007

Four B.C. Hockey League broadcasters will share duties this week and provide live audio and video coverage of the RBC Royal Bank Cup Junior A Hockey Championship to be held in Prince George May 5 to 13.

Ron Gallo (Prince George Spruce Kings), Dan Marshall (Penticton Vees) Keegan Goodrich (Merritt Centennials) and Kevin Parnell (Westside

Warriors) will provide play by play, colour commentary and ice level interviews during the tournament.

The broadcasts will include live streaming video and audio and will be hosted on Hockey Canada?s web site at www.hockeycanada.ca.

“I?m very excited about our job to deliver the nation's premier Junior A Hockey Championship to fans across the country,” said Gallo who has been organizing the tournament broadcasts from Prince George.

“We?ve assembled a great team and we are going to put on the best broadcast possible.”

The team of BCHL broadcasters have all volunteered their time for the event.

Joining the host Prince George Spruce Kings at the tournament are The Camrose Kodiaks (Alberta Junior Hockey League), the Pembroke Lumber Kings (Central Junior Hockey League), the Selkirk Steelers (Manitoba Junior Hockey League) and the Aurora Tigers (Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League).

“This is a great opportunity for all of us,” said Parnell. “To get the chance to call games at a national championship, working for Hockey Canada, is something that is very exciting. I know all of us are looking forward to working together and putting on a solid week of broadcasts.”

The BCHL broadcast crew will call all of the tournament games except for the final which will be seen live on TSN and on TSN.ca.
