WARRIORS AND VEES TIED UP IN OPENER

If the first pre-season game is any indication, the 2013-14 season should be fast-paced and dramatic.

West Kelowna and Penticton added more fuel to their storied rivalry on Sunday with a wild 3-3 tie at Royal LePage Place.

The Warriors jumped out to a 2-0 after the second period, on goals from Matt Anholt and Nick Gnazdowsky.  After a Vees comeback knotted the score, a Carl Hesler marker seemed to give the Warriors a late victory.
However, Penticton would snatch back the result with a late equalizer from Cam Amantea.

Both teams split the goaltending duties between two netminders.  Steven Myland started the game for the Warriors and was unbeatable in the first half of the game.  Cody Porter was also strong in his half, but couldn't hold off a frantic Vees comeback bid.

The teams will rematch on Monday evening in Penticton.
