WARRIORS ADD VETERAN GOALIE

Hours before their first exhibition game of the 2013 pre-season, the West Kelowna Warriors have added some strength between the pipes.

West Kelowna has acquired the Junior ‘A’ playing rights to goaltender Andy Desautels from the SJHL’s Flin Flon Bombers in exchange for future considerations.

The 19 year-old is expected to return to the CJHL after his WHL club, the Prince Albert Raiders, picked up star goalie Cole Cheveldave from the Kamloops Blazers.

“He’s a veteran goalie with a great reputation” says Warriors Head Coach / GM Rylan Ferster of the move.

Ferster says he’s spoken to Desautels, and he expects the Saskatchewan product to arrive in the Okanagan within a day or two.

The Warriors open their 2013 pre-season schedule on Sunday evening with a home date against the Penticton Vees.

Admission is $5 or free for season ticket holders.

West Kelowna then visits Penticton on Monday evening, before wrapping up the exhibition season with a home-and-home set against the Vernon Vipers next weekend.
