WENATCHEE WAS. – The Wenatchee Wild controversial start was all that was needed as the Warriors lost their second straight 6-0 Wednesday.

It wasn’t the start the Warriors were looking for. Not prepared for the pink ice surface there numerous ill advised passes, not to mention the Wild came out flying leading to the first goal scored only 43 seconds into the game courtesy of Luke Ormsby. Then controversy. The Wild would go on a powerplay for the remainder of the first period and appear to score a goal but there was no time left on the game clock. The officials went to check the time keepers box and added 0:00.3 seconds remaining to credit a goal for the Wild. It was the momentum killer for the Warriors which would continue into the second period.

The Wild would continue to pressure in the Warriors zone throughout the second frame. Early on the Wild went on another powerplay and after Johnny Derrick was able to make a key save in traffic, Wild forward Nick Cafarelli was able to bat in the rebound to make it 3-0. The Warriors got a couple quality scoring chances in the second but the Wild were able to block the majority of their shots.

The Warriors came out stronger to start the third but the ice would soon tilt in favor of the Wild as they added a goal from Quinn Emerson and a shorthanded goal from Luke Ormsby to extend the lead to 6-0.
