WEST KELOWNA B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors upset the Penticton Vees in back to back games after winning 4-3 Wednesday Night.

The Vees didn’t waste any time scoring the first goal off a deflection only 7 seconds in to make it 1-0. It was an Owen Simpson shot which would go off a Warriors player and past Johnny Derrick. The Warriors would score a pair to take the lead. First, it was Chase Dafoe firing a wrist shot top corner on the powerplay to tie it up at one. Then only 16 seconds later Felix Trudeau would tip a Charles Alexis Legault shot to give the Warriors a 2-1 lead heading into the 2nd period.

The second frame was controlled by the Vees. Luc Wilson was able to tie the game up at two midway though the period. The Vees would have a couple more chances but Warriors goaltender Johnny Derrick stood tall to keep it tied up heading into the 3rd.

The Warriors were able to score a pair in the third. First it was Chase Dafoe taking a pass from Marcus Joughin to score his second of the game and restore the lead for West Kelowna. Then Elan Bar Lev Wise would add another with over 7 minutes remaining to give the Warriors a two goal lead. The Vees would add one late on a penalty shot goal from Josh Nadeau but it would be enough with the Warriors escaping with a 4-3 victory.

Final shots 41-23 Vees.

The Warriors are back in action Friday December 31st when travel to the South Okanagan Events Centre to take on the Vees. Puck drop 7:00pm PST. Catch broadcasts on BCHL TV (formally HockeyTV) or tune into the Warriors MixIr radio station.
