WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – The Penticton Vees steam roll the West Kelowna Warriors by a score of 9-2 Sunday afternoon. The Vees now have a 3-0 best of seven series lead.

The Warriors got off to a flying start to the hockey game spending the first half of the period in the Vees zone and out shooting the Vees 10-4 during that stretch but the Warriors were not prepared for Vees goalkeeper Yaniv Perets to play his best game of the series. Perets made a great save on Elan Bar Lev Wise coming across after the Warriors cross iced a two on one pass to keep it scoreless. The Warriors would pressure the Vees again in their own zone with Nick Ardanaz being robbed by Perets making a glove save. The Vees would get an attacking zone faceoff at the midway point of the period allowing Colton Kalezic to score his first of the series giving the Vees a 1-0 lead after one period.

The Vees came out very strong in the second frame picking up a quick goal from Jay O’Brien off a wrist shot. Then the turning point of the game where the Warriors were caught sleeping in their own zone allowing the Vees to generate a pair of turnovers leading to a pair of goals from Danny Weight making it 4-0 Vees. The Warriors would get a power play tally late from Carter Wilkie getting the Warriors on the board after two periods of play.

The Warriors made things interesting in the third period with Deegan Mofford scoring off a quick turnover to make it 4-2. The crowd inside Royal LePage Place woke up and could feel a potential comeback brewing for the Warriors but the Vees would immediately take their offensive play to the next level. The Vees would score five unanswered goals including Jay O’Brien scoring his second of the game and Tyler Ho who finished things off with a penalty shot goal with 20 seconds remaining. The goal from Ho would be his 4th shorthanded goal of the series. Final score 9-2 Vees.

Final shots on goal: 49-26 in favour of the Vees.
