In front of a packed RLP Sunday afternoon, the Warriors came out strong out of the gate but the Vees took their game to a whole new level scoring five unanswered goals to win 9-2 and take a commanding 3-0 best of seven series lead. The Warriors didn’t capitalize on their chances in the first and then coughed up the puck in their own zone in the second allowing the Vees to nurse a lead into the third and take over. The absence of Drew Vieten was also noticeable for the Warriors with the Vees dominating on the faceoff dot. Vieten was suspended 3 games after a hit near the Vees bench back in game number two. If the Warriors are to be eliminated tonight, Vieten’s suspension would carry over to the 2020-21 regular season opener.

Tonight the Warriors host the Vees inside Royal LePage Place for what could be the final game of the season for the Warriors. Looking back at all nine games between the Vees and Warriors this year. The Vees have capitalized on Warriors turnovers, utilized their speed, won battles on the faceoff dot and also were more physical. In the regular season game Sunday February 9th the Warriors managed to play a near perfect game forcing the Vees into overtime. Defensive play was great, scoring chances were capitalized on and the Warriors didn’t allow the Vees to breakout successfully in the neutral zone using their speed.  The Warriors need to play a similar game to force a game five and save their season.
