PENTICTON, B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors kick off the home and home with the Penticton Vees with a 3-0 loss Friday night.

The Warriors needed a quick start to the game but the Vees had other plans striking first blood. It was a quick shot from Vincent Nardone on the left side that beat Brock Baier that made it 1-0. The Warriors would go on the powerplay and get 4 shots on the man advantage but couldn’t cash in past Vees goaltender Yaniv Perets. Shots after one, 8-8.

The Vees would continue to cycle play in the Warriors zone in the second period also drawing 3 Warriors penalties – One the Vees capitalized on. After the Warriors were able to survive the first minute and a half of the Vees power play the Vees second unit would go to work and after a failed clearing Liam Malquist would find Jackson Niedermayer who would score his 2nd of the season extending the lead to 2-0. The Vees would add one late with a quick shot towards the net from Alex DiPaolo that got batted out of mid air beating Brock Baier to make it 3-0 Vees heading into the third.

The Warriors would have a couple quality scoring attempts in the third but couldn’t beat Vees goaltender Yaniv Perets who would pick up the 21 save shutout.

Final shots: 30-21 in favor of the Vees.
