LANGLEY B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors lose a tough one to the Langley Rivermen 2-1 Tuesday night.

The Warriors and Rivermen went toe to toe exchanging a couple chances but each clubs goaltender made a couple big saves to keep it scoreless. There was a scare for the Warriors midway through the period where Parm Dhaliwal went hard into the boards shoulder first. Dhaliwal left the game but would later return.

Goals came in the second from both clubs. First it was the newly acquired forward from Duluth Minnesota Garrett Worth scoring his first as a Warrior making it 1-0. The Rivermen would answer back with Matteo Pecchia sprung loose ona breakaway who was robbed by Brock Baier, but then the Rivermen would continue to pressure allowing Riley Wallack to wrist the puck past Baier to tie it up at one heading into the dressing room.

The Warriors take a penalty early in the third allowing the Rivermen star studded d-core to go to work. After icing the puck in the first half of the penalty kill, Rivermen Captain Alec Capstick rushed end to end and rifled a wrist shot top corner past Brock Baier to make it 2-1. The Warriors would draw another penalty moving the puck well on the man advantage but couldn’t beat Rivermen goaltender Braeden Fleming. The Langley Rivermen would hold on to defeat the Warriors 2-1.

Shots on goal 26-25 in favor of the Warriors.
