LANGLEY B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors (25-20-0-1) travel to Langley for a tilt with the Rivermen (22-21-1-0) Tuesday night.

WARRIORS VS RIVERMEN SEASON SCHEDULE:

Nov 27th @ West Kelowna  WIN 4-3

Jan 22nd @ Langley

The Warriors are coming off a dominating 6-1 victory over the Prince George Spruce Kings Sunday afternoon. It was a game where the Warriors bad puck luck from last Friday’s 1-0 loss to the Vernon Vipers carried over, but this time all the bounces went into their favor. 3 out of the 6 goals scored on Sunday afternoon were relatively weak goals for the Warriors, something Assistant Coach Matt Miller chuckles at, “It’s just a part of the game. We’ve talked all year about how things just don’t go our way in one game. We do the exact same thing the next night and all of a sudden it works”.

Tonight the Warriors travel to Langley to face the Rivermen, a club that has had a great start to 2019. Last time the Warriors played the Rivermen was back in November 27th where the Warriors defeated the Rivermen 4-3. This time around the Rivermen have turned a new leaf, they’ve won four straight games most notably last weekend’s double header against the Coquitlam Express. Warriors Assistant Coach Matt Miller knows this will not be the same Rivermen club they faced a couple months ago, “They had a really good weekend. They’ve been playing really well since the Christmas break. I watched a bit of their game on Saturday, and they’re a tough team to play against.”

The Warriors are currently sitting in 4th place in the Interior Division with 51 points. 5 points behind the Wenatchee Wild and 4 points ahead of the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. The Langley Rivermen are sitting in 4th place in the Mainland division. 6 points behind the Coquitlam Express and 23 points ahead of the Surrey Eagles.

Warriors Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Chase Johnston is back on the mic with a pregame show 10 minutes before puck drop. Just a reminder that tickets are still available for the Warriors next home game Saturday February 2nd versus the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
