The Warriors are trying trying to bounce back after suffering two losses in a row this past week. First was a 3-0 shutout at the hands of the Powell River Kings, and then a 4-3 shootout loss over the Nanaimo Clippers. The Warriors coaching staff believed it was a game they should have won, but still happy they at least picked up a point. If the post season started today for the Warriors they wouldn’t qualify to enter. Currently the Warriors are two points back from the Merritt Centennials which makes all those missed opportunities crucial. To date, the Warriors have gone to overtime a total of six times this year, and were unable to pick up a victory in all 6 matchups. Finishing hockey games is a must for the Warriors who’ve made baby steps scoring goals late over the past couple weeks.

Tonight the Warriors travel south to take on the Penticton Vees. The Vees are not a team that struggles, but currently have lost 4 of their past 6 games. A perfect recipe for the Vees is a double header versus the bottom feeder West Kelowna Warriors. The Vees have played the Warriors well this season with a pair of victories. One was a shutout in Royal LePage Place and then the other was a dominant 7-3 victory inside the South Okanagan Events Centre. The Warriors need to make sure the Vees don’t own puck possession and control the game like their last two matchups.

This evening’s game will be broadcast on both HockeyTV and the Warriors Mixlr Network. Puck drop at 7:00pm from the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton. For tickets to any upcoming home game visit tickets.westkelownawarriors.ca for details and packages.
