FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SEPTEMBER 15th, 2019

WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – The Warriors return home to Royal LePage Place to host the Victoria Grizzlies Sunday afternoon.

Warriors vs. Grizzlies 2019/20 Regular Season Schedule:

Sunday, September 15th @ Royal LePage Place (2:30 PM)

Tuesday, January 28th @ The Q Centre (7:00 PM)

No Jake Harrison, no Parm Dhaliwal, no problem for the West Kelowna Warriors who went into hostile territory last Friday and defeated the Langley Rivermen 8-5 to pick up their very first victory of the season. It was a game where forwards like John Evans, David Vieten, and Max Bulawka picking up their first goals of the season and the power play was perfect going 3 for 3. It was all smiles in the bus heading back to West Kelowna but immediately, the Warriors have their focus on this afternoon’s matchup versus the Victoria Grizzlies. The Grizzlies have momentum going after picking up a 5-1 victory Saturday night over the Merritt Centennials.

This is a Victoria Grizzlies team that’s going through a major change. No more Alex Newhook, Alexandre Campbell and Riley Hughes who’ve all moved on. Now it’s time for some new faces to fill the void. It’s been tough sledding so far for the Grizzlies who haven’t been able to develop the right chemistry up front to score goals, that was before Saturday night’s 5-1 victory versus the Merritt Centennials. The Nicola Valley Memorial Arena is one of the toughest rinks to play in the BCHL, and the Grizzlies proved they’re starting to get things going offensively. The Warriors need to make sure the Grizzlies don’t manage time on attack, because it’s clear this new Grizzlies team is starting to figure things out.

Be sure to stick around for the Tim Hortons free family skate with the Warriors which takes place immediately after the game.

This afternoon’s game will be broadcast on both HockeyTV and the Warriors Mixlr Network. Puck drop at 2:30pm from Royal LePage Place in West Kelowna. For tickets to any upcoming home games visit tickets.westkelownawarriors.ca for details and packages.
