NEWS: VALLEY FIRST PRESENTS FEED THE VALLEY NIGHT

WEST KELOWNA B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club and Valley First (A Division of First West Credit Union) is pleased to announce “Feed the Valley Night” when the Warriors host the Wenatchee Wild this Friday.

It’s Valley First’s annual Feed the Valley night, as fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or cash donations. All donations collected will be donated to the Central Okanagan Food Bank. Any fan that brings a cash donation or a non perishable food item is automatically entered to win a gift basket.

“We are excited to team up with Valley First and support the Central Okanagan Food Bank.”, stated Warriors President Chris Laurie. “These food items and cash donations go a long way in helping our community.”

Valley First West Kelowna Branch Manager Aaron Bowyer issued the following statement: “We are excited for you to join Friday night’s game sponsored by Valley First and our signature cause Feed the Valley. Help us raise food, funds and awareness for the Central Okanagan Food Bank, West Kelowna location.”

Trevor Moss, CEO of the Central Okanagan Food Bank informs the public there is a 34% jump in usage of the West Kelowna Food bank in 2021 compared to 2020 and numbers continue to increase for 2022. Moss also indicates that a large portion of the funds raised will go towards the tiny bundles program helping expecting mothers and mothers with young children right here in West Kelowna.

Valley First, the West Kelowna Warriors and the BCHL are raising food, funds and awareness through Feed the Valley. Together we are tackling hunger and building strong communities.
