The West Kelowna Warriors are pleased to announce that Kylar Hope has committed to the University of Alaska-Fairbanks for the 2016/2017 season.
Hope, from Lashburn, Saskatchewan, is in his third season with the Warriors, where he sits third in team scoring with 21 goals, and 32 assists through 42 games. Kylar recently played in his 150th BCHL game.
“They (Alaska-Fairbanks) showed a lot of interest in me in the past month or so and I felt it would be the best fit for me as a player and as a person. I am very excited for the opportunity Fairbanks has given me to play college hockey.” Hope said of his commitment.
Head Coach and General Manager Rylan Ferster is also thrilled for Hope. “Kylar has been one of our best players since the playoffs last season. He’s been playing in all situations this season, and has seen his numbers reflect his play. We are extremely excited to have Kylar heading to Alaska-Fairbanks. It’s really nice to see a guy put in three hard seasons in our league and get rewarded for it.”
Hope will join former Warrior Marcus Basara on the Nanooks next season. There are currently seven BCHL alum’s on the roster, with six slated to return in 2016/2017.
