West Kelowna took a positive step towards the 2013-14 season with a 3-1 exhibition win in Vernon on Friday.
After withstanding some early Vipers pressure thanks to newcomer Andy Desautels, the Warriors were able to pull ahead on goals from Matt Anholt and David Pope (PP).
A Dexter Dancs marker early in the third period would allow Vernon to get within a goal. However, West Kelowna managed to hold the fort from there and sealed the victory with an empty-netter from Liam Blackburn.
The teams will conclude the preseason with a matchup Saturday evening at Royal LePage Place.
