WARRIORS PICK UP COTTON

It’s more depth up front for the Warriors, and more grief for the rest of the league.
West Kelowna Head Coach / GM Rylan Ferster announced on Thursday that the club has acquired Jason Cotton from the Tri-City Storm in the USHL.
Ferster says Cotton is a player that the Warriors have “had their eye on” since a scouting assignment in New England this past summer.
“He’s a big guy with some skill” Ferster declares.  “He’s got a really good shot and a really good nose for the net.”
The Texas native has an impressive resume, having played for the USA at the 2012 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament [World under-18 championship].
The 18 year-old has also already committed to Northeastern University for next season.

To make room for Cotton, the Warriors have re-assigned forward Morgan Johnston to the North Okanagan Knights.
“We’ll still keep him close by on an ‘AP’ basis, and hopefully he gets an opportunity to get back in the lineup as well” Ferster says.  Johnston hadn’t dressed for a game with the Warriors yet this year.

Jason Cotton arrived in West Kelowna on Wednesday night and began practicing with the team on Thursday.  He will make his Warriors debut on Friday vs. Salmon Arm.
