The West Kelowna Warriors, and their fans, raised 1,049 pounds of food for the West Kelowna Food Bank at their 1st Food Bank Fundraiser Night this past weekend! (November 15th, 2013)
Each BCHL team is hosting a fundraising night for their local food bank throughout the year as part of a new league wide initiative to partner with BC food banks this year!
“We nearly stuffed the food bank van volunteers brought to transport food that night,” says Andrew Deans, Warriors Director of Operations. “To be able to help stuff some shelves before Christmas is great for our team, and our fans. Thank you to everybody who helped out on this special day.”
The Warriors would also like to remind people that at every home game the West Kelowna Food Bank collects donations. With your donation you are entered into a draw for an $8000 Hot Tub from Beachcomber Kelowna.
The draw will be made at the end of the regular season.
