WARRIORS ADD TO COACHING STAFF

The Westside Warriors have added to their Coaching Staff for the upcoming year.

Brent Gough will become the Warriors second Assistant Coach along with Larry Robinson.

“We are pleased to have Brent Gough join our organization,? says Warriors Head Coach Darren Yopyk.  ?Having played at the junior, collegiate and professional levels he will be an excellent mentor for our student-athletes.  He possesses a great hockey mind, and will be a valuable asset for our whole organization.”

Gough played for the Saint Albert Saints (AJHL) from 2000-2002 before gaining a scholarship to play NCAA hockey at Merrimack.  Brent led Merrimack in scoring during his freshman and sophomore years.  He was later named the team?s alternate captain and voted to the All-Decade Team.

He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Organizational Behavior from Merrimack.

?I want to thank Darren and Mark Cheyne for this opportunity to further develop my coaching career,? says Gough.  I look forward to bringing my experience to the Westside Warriors organization.  My wife, Carly, and I are looking forward to becoming involved with the Westside community.  I am very excited to get the 2010-2011 season underway and help in the development of players as they strive for the next level.?

Brent has spent the last four seasons playing for the Peterborough Phantoms in Great Britain and is the All-Time Points leader.  He also led a program introducing young kids to skating.
