SALMON ARM, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks run wild on the West Kelowna Warriors by a score of 6-2 Wednesday night.

The Silverbacks got off to the start they needed by not taking a single penalty and forcing play in the Warriors zone for the most part. After a Warriors turnover in their own zone Silverbacks would crash the net allowing William Poirier to capitalize and score his 21st of the season to make it 1-0 Silverbacks.

The Silverbacks started the second frame on the power play but the Warriors managed to kill it off and gain some momentum. Once Nick Ardanaz stepped out of the penalty box, he rushed the goaltender Grant Adams and stole the puck right off his stick placing the puck in the net to tie the game up at one. Only 14 seconds later the Silverbacks would restore the lead after Simon Tassy fired a wrist shot past the five hole of Riley Morgan. The Silverbacks would add another from Lucas Breault after they crash the net leaving a loose puck near the crease to make it 3-1. The Warriors would cut the lead to one after a shot from Brendan Pigeon from the left circle went off a Silverbacks defender and in the net in what was a wild play to make it 3-2 heading into the third period.

It was a third period to forget for the Warriors allowing a trio of goals in the first half of the period. First it was the fourth line of the Silverbacks where Sam Schofield was able to find Simon Tassy to score his second of the game to make it 4-2 Silverbacks. Then 2 minutes later Tassy would take off with the puck and place a picture perfect pass to the stick of Coalson Wolford who beat Riley Morgan making it 5-2. That would be the end of the night for Morgan who allowed 5 goals off 29 shots. The Silverbacks would add one more with 11 seconds remaining from Simon Tassy scoring on a shorthanded breakaway to give the Silverbacks a 6-2 victory.

Final shots on goal: 37-23 in favor of the Silverbacks.
