PENTICTON B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors get ousted by the Penticton Vees by a score of 7-2.

The Vees would start the game scoring twice, both off turnovers. The Warriors were cycling through the attacking zone, and a shot from the point deflected of Vees defenseman James Miller’s shin pad springing him loose on a breakaway which led to the first goal of the game. Just over 2 minutes later the Vees would intercept a pass in the attacking zone and it was Ottawa Senators prospect Luke Loheit firing a puck off a Warriors stick and past Connor Hopkins to make it 2-0 after the first period.

The Warriors would start the second with pressure in the Vees zone but then the Penticton Vees would push back with a series of goals. First it was Mason Snell who received a pass to the point from Luke Loheit to make it 3-0 four minutes in, then only and 1:30 later the Vees would add another from their Captain Massimo Rizzo who played the puck off his skate to make it 4-0. That would be the end of the night for Warriors goaltender Connor Hopkins, who was replaced by Brock Baier. The Warriors would take a penalty a minute later allowing Jack Lagerstrom to score his 2nd of the season on the power play to make it 5-0, but the Vees were not done there, just over a minute later Lukas Sillinger received a pass from Ryan Sandelin from a 2 on 1 making it 6-0 Vees with 10:32 still remaining in the second period. The Warriors would get one past Vees goaltender Derek Krall off a Mike Hardman power play goal to cut the shutout going into the third period.

The Warriors would start the third period similar to the second, but this time they were able to get the puck past Derek Krall early on. Chase Dubois was sprung loose after a great pass by Anthony Bishop deep in the Warriors zone allowing Dubois to wrist one past Krall and the lead was cut to four, 6-2. The Warriors would allow one more goal to finish the game with Lukas Sillinger scoring his second of the evening on the power play making it 7-2.

Shots on goal 53-23 in favor of the Vees.
