RECAP: Hopkins Shuts the Door on the Spruce Kings

September 20th

CHILLIWACK B.C –  After Mike Hardman went top corner in the opening period, there was no looking back for the West Kelowna Warriors. The Warriors scored 3 goals on 12 shots against Spruce Kings goaltender Bradley Cooper. After the third goal, Cooper’s day was cut short as Logan Neaton came in relief. The story of today’s game, however, was West Kelowna Warriors goaltender Connor Hopkins. Hopkins finished the day with a 36 save shutout. Warriors coach Geoff Grimwood was pleased with not just his team, but also the effort from Hopkins, “I was really pleased with his performance. I really think Connor is a legit goaltender in this league, he has a great attitude, and was calm and cool back there today which was nice to see”.  The Warriors goals were scored by Mike Hardman (2 goals), Mason Richey, and Max Bulawka (PP). The Warriors finished 1 for 4 on the man advantage in today’s game.
