PREVIEW: Warriors, Smokies Close Out Two Game Set In Trail

The West Kelowna Warriors look to make it back-to-back wins to open the season as they head to Cominco Arena to face-off against the Trail Smoke Eaters.

It was a fantastic night at Royal LePage Place last night as the Warriors raised their 2016 championship banners to the rafters. The large crowd of 1,389 was treated to a good hockey game as well as the Warriors took home a 3-1 victory thanks to goals coming from Jake Harrison, Michael Ryan (His 1st career BCHL goal) and Reed Gunville.

Shane Farkas made 24 saves in the contest to earn his first career BCHL victory and will be looked upon again tonight as he gets the start against the Smokies for the 2nd straight game.

The Warriors will be without forwards Parm Dhaliwal and Mitch Martan tonight as both players sustained injuries in last night’s hockey game and with that, the Warriors will dress seven defensemen as Daly Hamilton will draw into the Warrior lineup and make his BCHL debut.

With the win last night, the Warriors have now won three straight season opening games and will look to go a perfect 2-0-0-0 on the season with a victory tonight in Trail.

The game can be seen on pay-per-view on FASTHockey.com or you can listen in for free with the Warriors Internet Network. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 pm (may be a tad bit later with the Smokies home opener happening tonight), pre game will start at 6:50 pm.
