WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors (10-25-5-2) look to extend their winning streak versus the Surrey Eagles (17-20-2-4) Friday night.

Warriors vs. Eagles 2019/20 Regular Season Schedule:

Wednesday, November 20th @ South Surrey Arena (7:30 PM) LOSS 2-1

Friday, January 17th @ Royal LePage Place (7:00 PM)

The Warriors are coming off a dominant 6-2 performance over the Alberni Valley Bulldogs propelling them to their third straight victory. It is the first three game winning streak for the Warriors since December of 2018. The Warriors were once again able to get multi point nights from Deegan Mofford and Nick Ardanaz. The Warriors also got stellar goaltending from Johnny Derrick who was able to pick up the first honors star in two out of three games. Derrick also stopped 104 out of 110 shots in the three games combined. Mofford, Ardanaz and Derrick were named honourable mentions for BCHL Player of the Week this past Monday afternoon.

Tonight the Warriors look to split the season series versus the Surrey Eagles. Last time these two teams met, the Eagles were able to pick up a 2-1 victory back in November. The Eagles and Warriors are similar. They both have the youngest teams in the BCHL. Both are expected to run similar lineups in 2020-2021 and both are in the bottom half of the BCHL standings. The Eagles made a couple small moves since their last matchup former Swift Current Broncos goaltender Reece Klassen and veteran defender Brendan Kim. Kim did some damage to the Warriors last season when he was a member of the Vernon Vipers but has yet to score yet this season. Kim will be more motivated than ever to get on the board this evening. As for the Warriors the dressing room atmosphere is at an all time high with the youth movement in full effect. The Warriors will also be announcing 3 new alternate captains before puck drop this evening.

This evening’s game will be broadcast on both HockeyTV and the Warriors Mixlr Network. Puck drop at 7:00pm from Royal LePage Place in West Kelowna. For tickets to any upcoming home game visit tickets.westkelownawarriors.ca for details and packages.
