The Warriors are coming off arguably the best effort of the year defeating the Penticton Vees 2-1 in overtime. The Warriors played a near perfect game versus the Vees. Johnny Derrick was named first star after stopping 38 of 39 shots. The Warriors d-core prevented any high quality scoring chances from the Vees top players and Jake Harrison continues to get better and better since his return setting up the overtime goal scored by Tyler Cristall. Warriors coaching staff also took note of the Warriors success on the forecheck and faceoff dot. Each Warriors centre was over 50% on faceoffs and they wouldn’t allow the Vees to breakout through the neutral zone. It also helped the Warriors that they didn’t take a single penalty all game.

Tonight the Warriors need to prepare for a better Vees team. Captain David Silye sat out an extra game with injury and it’s obvious he will dress for game number five. The Vees Captain is a force when in the lineup and is also great on faceoffs. The Vees will also take notice on the Warriors forecheck which was flawless in game four. The defense of the Vees will have to think quickly when they grab the puck in their own zone so they can successfully breakout in the neutral zone with speed like they did in games one, two and three. Then the Warriors will also need to play the exact same game they did in game four – near perfect.
