West Kelowna, B.C. –  The Warriors welcome the Trail Smoke Eaters to Royal LePage Place for the first time this season.

The Warriors are coming off a weekend split. First it was a 7-4 victory over the Wenatchee Wild where the Warriors recieevd top production from forwards Chase Dafoe and Felix Trudeau who each scored a pair of goals. The next day the Warriors suffered a tough loss to the Cranbrook Bucks by a score of 5-3. It was a game where the Warriors had a 3-1 lead with over 8 minutes remaining. The Bucks, led by rookie Tyson Dyck were able to score 4 late to win their 3rd straight against the Warriors.

Friday January 29th VS Trail Smoke Eaters (16-14-1-1): 7:00pm  (Warriors lead season series 2-1)

Tonight the Warriors host the Trail Smoke Eaters for the first time this season. So far the Warriors have played three games against the Smoke Eaters, all of them in Trail. The first two were regulation victories for the Warriors where they outscored the Smoke Eaters 12-7. The last game was just a couple weeks ago where the Warriors were coming off a 15 hour bus ride from Prince George to Trail where they came out flat and lost 4-0. It was a game to forget for the Warriors who immediately moved on from that game and focused on what was ahead. This evening the Warriors host the Smoke Eaters inside Royal LePage Place a rink the Smoke Eaters are for once unfamiliar with. The Warriors will also be coming into this game with a full 5 day rest and only need to prepare for this Saturday evening matchup with no game on the Friday and the Sunday, so the advantage in regards to energy and endurance is on their side. The simple goal for a Warriors win is capitalizing on their chances. Last time the Warriors played the Smoke Eaters they had scoring chances but couldn’t cash in on the many rebounds goaltender Evan Fradette gave up. On the other end of the ice the Smoke Eaters scored on almost every odd man rush. The Warriors will need to play miles better this time around if they want to pick up their third victory of the season against the Smoke Eaters.

This game broadcast will be available on BCHLTV(formally HockeyTV) and the Warriors Mixlr Radio Network. Puck drop at 7:00pm from Royal LePage Place in West Kelowna. There are tickets available at westkelownawarriors.ca.
