The West Kelowna Warriors look to extend their season-long win streak to five games when they host some familiar faces at Royal LePage Place as they welcome the Prince George Spruce Kings to town on Sunday afternoon.

The Warriors enter this afternoon winners of their last four games including last night’s impressive 5-3 win over the Trail Smoke Eaters, despite being down four regular forwards and a defensemen plus a goaltender. Chase Dubois tallied a hat trick (his first in the BCHL) while Quin Foreman again provided two third period goals en route to the win. Shane Farkas made 24 saves for his 5th win of his rookie season.
The Warriors and Spruce Kings meet for the first time this season on Sunday afternoon for the first of their two meetings but the Warriors are hoping the trend against Prince George continues as the Warriors haven’t lost to PG since November of 2014. Last season, West Kelowna beat the Spruce Kings 5-2 at RLP before heading to Prince George and beating the home side by a 6-4 score in the then named Prince George Coliseum.
As mentioned, the Warriors will see some familiar faces today as Brett Mennear, Tyler Anderson and Tanner Campbell make their returns to RLP for the first time since being dealt to Prince George. Campbell, traded at last season’s deadline, who spent 59 games with the club while Anderson, traded to PG earlier this season as the Warriors acquired Braiden Epp, played 64 games with the Warriors. Mennear, the Spruce Kings captain, spent two seasons with the Warriors, amassing a total of 163 regular season games with his hometown team.
Quin Foreman has torn the score sheet apart the last two games with back-to-back two goal-one assist performances. Foreman has already tied his career high in goals (13) and surpassed his high in points (27) in 31 fewer games this season. His line mate Matt Campese is also looking good as of late, as he comes into this afternoon with a three game point streak with two goals and five points over that stretch.
The Spruce Kings look to get back on track as their Interior Division trip has not gone as planned for the club, going 0-2 with losses in Trail on Friday night against the Smoke Eaters (while holding a 4-1 lead at one point in the game) and losing a tight one Saturday night in Penticton against the Vees by a 3-2 score. Prince George had been coming off of a good October that saw them go 5-3-1-0 over those nine games.
Captain Brett Mennear leads the team in goals (10), assists (14) and points (24) and has been a huge get from West Kelowna in the offseason. Jamie Huber (7-10-17) and Tanner Campbell (5-11-16) round out the top three in Spruce King scoring. PG sits 3rd in the Mainland Division with a 8-10-2-0 record while allowing the 6th most goals in the BCHL this season.
