WEST KELOWNA B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors (25-21-0-1) travel to South Surrey for a tilt with the Eagles (10-33-2-2) Wednesday night.

WARRIORS VS EAGLES SEASON SCHEDULE:

Nov 10th @ West Kelowna  WIN 6-2

Jan 22nd @ Langley

The Warriors are looking to rebound after suffering a 2-1 loss to the Langley Rivermen last Tuesday. It was a game loaded with chances for the Warriors who could only put the puck past Rivermen goaltender Braeden Fleming once all game. Good things to take out of the game included Garrett Worth scoring his first goal as a member of the Warriors, and the defensive play ramped up with the Warriors allowing two or less goals in their past three games.

Tonight the Warriors face the Surrey Eagles –  a club the Warriors made easy work of back in their November 10th matchup by a score of 6-2. In that game the Eagles were without some key forwards who were out with injury. The Eagles were also finishing a 3 game set in the Interior Division. This time around this Eagles team is healthy, and despite their record they’ve shown they can compete with the best in the league. The Surrey Eagles are coming off an impressive 3-1 victory over the Alberni Valley Bulldogs last Sunday. The Eagles had a different line score on every goal and exposed a Bulldogs club that didn’t respect a club that is currently sitting last in the BCHL league standings. Warriors Assistant Coach Matt Miller is making sure his club takes the Eagles seriously even though they’re in the basement of the BCHL standings, “Surrey is a team fighting for a playoff spot so every game is a playoff game to them. We will have to focus on shaking off the rust in the early going after the 8 day break so I think a good start and getting our legs under us will be a big factor in the game.”

The Warriors are currently sitting in 4th place in the Interior Division with 51 points. 6 points behind the Wenatchee Wild and 1 points ahead of the Vernon Vipers. The Surrey Eagles are sitting in 5th place in the Mainland division. 25 points behind the Coquitlam Express who are 4th in the Mainland Division.

Warriors Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Chase Johnston is back on the mic with a pregame show 10 minutes before puck drop. Just a reminder that tickets are still available for the Warriors next home game Saturday February 2nd versus the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
