Prince George, B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors travel to Prince George to take on the Spruce Kings Wednesday night

Wednesday November 3rd VS Prince George Spruce Kings: 7:00pm

The Warriors are coming off a thrilling overtime victory last Friday night over the Powell River Kings. It was a game the Warriors were trailing late but found a way to not only force overtime but win the game in the extra frame. It was a game that saw the new look top line of Marcus Joughin, Tyler Cristall and John Evans connect for the final two goals to give the Warriors a 4-3 win. Warriors Assistant Coach Ayrton Nikkel was pleased with the trio’s play, “They played exceptionally well, spent majority of their time in the offensive zone, but it was even the little things they did away from the puck that was impressive”.

Tonight the Warriors travel to Northern BC to take on the Prince George Spruce Kings. The Warriors picked up an opening night 5-3 victory against the Spruce Kings back on October. Since October 9th, the Spruce Kings have only lost one game in Penticton and have reminded undefeated at home. One of the more eye opening victories for the Spruce Kings was last Wednesday when they stunned the Penticton Vees 7-1. The main reason, the Spruce Kings power play. The Prince George Spruce Kings have the number one power play in the BCHL. The Spruce Kings are 41% on the powerplay and look to continue the trend with John Herrington and Nick Rheaume. The two forward lead the Spruce Kings in scoring and have combined for 15 goals this season. The Warriors will need to stay out of the penalty box if they want to have success in hostile territory Wednesday night.
