West Kelowna, B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors head back to Vernon for games 3 and 4 of the Pod Season starting Thursday afternoon.

The Warriors are coming off a split in the opening weekend of the Pod Season. First it was a 2-1 victory over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks after a stellar comeback. Then it was a comedy of errors on day two with the Warriors suffering a 5-3 loss to the host Vernon Vipers Sunday afternoon.

Sunday April 8th VS Salmon Arm Silverbacks: 1:00pm

Skyler Cameron, Damon Jugnauth and Zach Bennett were among names that stood out in the first night of the BCHL Pod Season. The 6 months to focus on strength and conditioning, game film and on ice practice proved to benefit the Warriors with their depth players out playing the Silverbacks Saturday night. Zach Bennett stopped 31 of 32 shots, Skyler Cameron made his physical presence known making numerous big stops and Marcus Joughin was able to pick up a pair of points. If the Warriors continue to get the same production out of their depth players along with stellar goaltending, they should be successful in the second game versus the Silverbacks.

Friday April 9th VS Vernon Vipers: 1:00pm

The Warriors were able to match the Vipers play last Sunday but a total of 3 costly turnovers proved to be the difference. The Warriors allowed two short handed goals, one of them being the insurance tally which would seal the win for the Vipers. In order for the Warriors to beat the Vipers, they need to stay out of the penalty box and avoid turning the puck over like they did last Sunday.

Puck drop for the Warriors on Thursday will be 1:00pm versus the Silverbacks and Friday at 1:00pm versus the Vipers. Catch broadcasts on BCHL TV (formally HockeyTV) or tune into the Warriors MixIr radio station.
