WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors (13-27-5-2) begin their three game Island trip versus the Victoria Grizzlies (18-29-1) Tuesday night.

Warriors vs. Grizzlies 2019/20 Regular Season Schedule:

Sunday, September 15th @ Royal LePage Place (2:30 PM) LOSS 3-2 OT

Tuesday, January 28th @ The Q Centre (7:00 PM)

The Warriors are coming another big win 4-1 over the Vernon Vipers, this time it was in their rink. The Warriors got off to a great start with a power play goal from Brendan Pigeon and then another big goal from Deegan Mofford in the second forcing the Vipers to chase the game throughout the second and third periods. Story of the game had to be goaltender Riley Morgan stopping 30 of 31 shots and was named first star. It would be Morgan’s first start in the BCHL and first junior hockey start since he was misdiagnosed with cancer back in September. The win gave the Warriors the extra confidence they needed knowing they have two goalies they can use during their quest for the playoffs.

Tonight it’s a rematch with the Victoria Grizzlies, a team that is only sitting 4 points back of the Warriors in the standings. The Grizzlies stole one from the Warriors back in September after Marty Westhavor tied the game up and eventually score in overtime to win it for the Grizzlies. The Warriors heavily out shot the Grizzlies in that game and they might have that same problem this evening with Liam Souliere between the pipes. Souliere has settled in for the Grizzlies as of late and has kept in team in a lot of close games this season. The Warriors will need to make sure any chances they get, they capitalize on.

This evening’s game will be broadcast on both HockeyTV and the Warriors Mixlr Network. Puck drop at 7:00pm from the Q Centre in Victoria. For tickets to any upcoming home game visit tickets.westkelownawarriors.ca for details and packages.
