WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – After advancing to the second round of the BC Hockey League Playoffs with an exciting Game 7 victory in Round 1, the West Kelowna Warriors will set their sights on the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in the Interior Conference Semi Finals beginning on Friday, April 19th.
The Warriors enter Round 2 following a windy road to get to this point but finished the job with a series victory on Tuesday night in Game 7 by a 5-1 score, knocking the Cranbrook Bucks out of the playoffs with the win. It was the Warriors second Game 7 victory in their franchise history and first since 2011.
Salmon Arm also played in a bit of an extended series in their opening round, needing six games to seize victory over the Merritt Centennials, concluding on Saturday night in Merritt where the Silverbacks finished the series with a 4-2 victory.
2024 will mark the fifth time that the Warriors and Silverbacks will battle in postseason play and the third time the two teams have meet in the 2nd Round of the playoffs. The Warriors have won three of the four previous meetings, winning series’ over the Silverbacks in 2008, 2016 and most recently in 2022. Salmon Arm’s lone playoff win over the Warriors came in five games back in 2009.

Playoff tickets are set to go on sale now and fans are encouraged to buy tickets early to avoid game day lineups. Tickets can be purchased on the Warriors website as well as in-person at the Warriors Office, located at 2768 Warriors Place, as well as at the Box Office ahead of the opening puck drop.
