NEWS: Warriors Add Local Products Flint & Podworny For 2024/25 Season

WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors Junior Hockey Club is pleased to announce the commitments of a pair of forwards in Logan Flint (’07) and Kelsen Podworny (’07) for the 2024/25 season.

“We are excited to add two Okanagan ’07-born forwards for next season,” commented Warriors General Manager and Head Coach Simon Ferguson, “Both Logan and Kelsen bring a good combination of skill, sandpaper and leadership. We expect both to be impact players over the next two to three seasons.”

Flint, 16, is currently playing in his first full season of U18 hockey with Yale Hockey Academy, located in Abbotsford, BC, following two seasons at RINK Hockey Academy in Kelowna. The 6’1”, 185-pound forward has posted 6 goals and 17 points in 22 games this season with Yale, including an impressive showing at the annual Circle K Classic in Calgary, Alberta, over the holidays with 4 goals and 7 points in 6 games.

The Kelowna, BC native is no stranger to the Warriors organization, having played in a pair of exhibition games and scored a goal in Merritt against the Centennials in a pre-season game in early September.

“I had the chance to get to know the Warriors organization through main camp and preseason this past fall and had a really great experience,” said Flint, “I am so excited for this opportunity. It is an honour toi be able to continue my development and start my junior hockey career in West Kelowna.’

Podworny, 16, is tied for the team lead in scoring on his U18 RINK Kelowna Hockey Academy squad where the 6’0”, 176-pound forward has registered 11 goals and 30 points through just 18 games this season. Podworny also had a helping hand in his team’s success at the Circle K Classic in Calgary, earning 6 goals and 7 points in 5 games played.

Another Kelowna product, Podworny and Flint have ties and have played together on last year’s U17 team at RINK Kelowna Hockey Academy. “I am very excited to commit to the West Kelowna Warriors,” commented Podworny, “I look forward to starting the next chapter of my hockey career with such a great organization.”

The Warriors would like to welcome Logan and Kelsen and their families to the organization and the Central Okanagan.

The Warriors embark on a set of four games away from home beginning on Vancouver Island as they take on the Nanaimo Clippers on Friday night at Frank Crane Arena. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 PM with the game being broadcasted live on AM 1150 as well as streamed online on FloHockey.
