WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors Junior Hockey Club have announced the addition of Buffalo Sabres prospect defenseman Sean Keohane (’04) to the roster for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.

“When the opportunity came up to add another impact defenseman, we knew we had to jump at it,” said Warriors General Manager and Head Coach Simon Ferguson, “Sean can play in all situations and we expect him to be hard for opposing teams to play against.”

Keohane, 19, joins the team after suiting up in 16 games with the Tri-City Storm in the United States Hockey League (USHL) to begin the season. The 6’4”, 183-pound blueliner played his prep hockey with Dexter Southfield School in Massachusetts, including captaining the team in his final season in 2022/23.

“I’m super excited to join the Warriors for the second half of the season,” commented Keohane, “It is an awesome organization all around and I’m looking forward to the remainder of the season with a great group of guys.”

The Boston, Massachusetts, native was selected in the 6th round of National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Draft by the Buffalo Sabres with the 173rd overall pick. Keohane also will play his collegiate hockey at Harvard University and join the Crimson following his junior hockey career.

The Warriors return from the 11-day holiday break with a trip to Northern BC and a doubleheader against the Prince George Spruce Kings (9-15-3-0) beginning on Friday, December 29th. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 PM from the Kopar Memorial Arena with the game being broadcasted live on AM 1150 as well as streamed online on FloHockey.
