NEWS: Pridham & Hughes Crack NHL Central Scouting Mid-Season Rankings

WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – The National Hockey League’s Central Scouting department unveiled their Mid-Season Rankings for the 2024 NHL Entry Draft which features a pair of West Kelowna Warriors forwards Jack Pridham and Cal Hughes.

After each player cracked the Players to Watch List by Central Scouting in October, both Pridham and Hughes find their way to the Mid-Season rankings, which features 9 BC Hockey Leaguers including the two Warriors forwards.

Pridham has scored 13 goals and 30 points in 32 games played this season in his first year in West Kelowna, currently riding an 11-game point streak into the weekend. A commit of Boston University, the Stoufville, Ontario native ranks 3rd in BCHL rookie scoring and is ranked 70th overall, slated to be taken in the 3rd round of the Draft.

Hughes comes into the weekend of play sitting 15th in scoring amongst BCHL rookies, registering 14 goals and 20 points in 32 games while the BU commit placed 140th in the Mid-Season rankings, slated to be a 5th round Draft selection.

Pridham is the highest ranked BCHL player at 70th, followed by Langley Rivermen defender Luke Ashton (138), Nanaimo Clippers defender Matt Lahey (155), Hughes (149), Trail Smoke Eaters forward Chase Stefanek (151), Salmon Arm Silverbacks forward JJ Monteiro (160), Penticton Vees forward Max Heise (171), Vees forward Connor MacPherson (179), and Vees defender Francesco Dell’Elce (197).

The Warriors are back in action on home ice this weekend beginning on Saturday night as they take on the Cowichan Valley Capitals at Royal LePage Place. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 PM with tickets available for purchase on the Warriors website as well as in-person at the Box Office, open an hour before puck drop on game nights.
