WEST KELOWNA B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club is pleased to announce D Lucas Bahn’s commitment to University of Alabama in Huntsville for 2019-2020.

Bahn, 19, registered three goals and 17 assists with the Warriors during the 2018-19 regular season.  Fans and scouts across the nation, including Hockey Night in Canada’s host Ron McLean, were curious  about how a kid from Hendersonville Tennessee ended up playing hockey in West Kelowna, British Columbia.“It was an awesome experience getting to play in West Kelowna for a year”, stated Bahn. “I met so many great people and learned so much throughout the year. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and I’m so thankful for the life experience.”

Bahn expressed interest in attending a Division 1 school close to his family in Tennessee and managed to slot into UAH – only a two hour commute from Nashville. “I’m really excited to commit to University of Alabama in Huntsville. It is a great opportunity to join a growing D1 program so close to home. I can’t wait to get started this fall.”

“We are very happy for Lucas on securing a scholarship to the University of Alabama-Huntsville”, stated Warriors General Manager and Head Coach Brandon West. “Lucas is now able to play close to home in front of family and friends and I know he’s excited about that. UAH was looking for a right shot defender that could step in and contribute to both ends of the rink. I believe it’s a great fit for both sides. We will certainly miss him next season.”

The Warriors would like to thank Lucas for his contributions to the club and wish him luck in all of his future endeavors.
