The Westside Warriors are pleased to announce rookie defenseman Michael King (?93) has been listed by Central Scouting in their top ten Junior A players.
NHL Central Scouting released its Top 10 prospects for each of the North American junior hockey leagues and King was one-of-six BCHL players are listed among the Junior A ranks.
The 6-foot-5, 205-pounder registered 5 goals and 23 points through 48 games in his first BCHL season. The native of Prince George has already secured a scholarship to Colorado College for the 2012/13 season.
The five other BCHL players are:
Joel Lowry ? Victoria Grizzlies
Sam Mellor ? Trail Smoke Eaters
Joey Baker ? Penticton Vees
Destry Straight ? Coquitlam Express
Ryan Renz ? Vernon Vipers
The players were listed in alphabetical order so there is no rank according to where the players are likely to be drafted. No players included in the Junior A list were identified as possible first-round selections.
This year's NHL Entry Draft is slated for June 24th and 25th at Xcel Energy Centre in St. Paul, Minnesota.
