GRIEVE NAMED AHA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

WALTHAM, Mass. – Riding a four-game winning streak and a six-game unbeaten streak, the Bentley hockey team had two players recognized by the Atlantic Hockey Association for their play last weekend. Freshman forward Alex Grieve (Calgary, Alberta/Westside Warriors) was named the AHA Travel Team USA Player of the Week, and sophomore Branden Komm (Williamsville, N.Y./Northfield Mount Hermon) was tabbed as Goalie of the Week.

Grieve had a monster game in Saturday's 6-1 win over UConn. He had a hand in each goal, scoring two and assisting on the other four, which tied the program's Division I record for most points in a single -game. In Friday's 2-1 overtime win over the Huskies, he helped set up Brett Switzer's game-winner, keeping the puck in off a clearing attempt and making a pass in front of the net to Brett Gensler, who hit Switzer for the goal.

Grieve's scoring line for the season is up 12-15-27, which is tied for sixth in Atlantic Hockey in points and tied for ninth in goals. He's two off the pace for most points among the league's rookies. It's his second weekly award from Atlantic Hockey this season after he was named Rookie of the Week on Jan. 30.

Komm's Goalie of the Week award is his second of the year after he went 2-0 over the weekend to improve to 13-10-6 overall. He allowed just one goal in each game, and made 30 saves on Friday and 24 on Saturday. He's gone four straight games allowing two goals or less, and has done that in 19 of the 24 Atlantic Hockey games he's started this season.

The Falcons close out the regular season against Holy Cross this weekend and are in a three-way tie for third with Niagara and Mercyhurst.
