ANHOLT’S ARMY

Anholt’s Army is a new partnership with the Okanagan Boys & Girls Club and West Kelowna Warriors Captain Matt Anholt.

8-10 youth from the Boys & Girls Club will get to watch every Warriors home game from the special Anholt’s Army section.  At the game they will receive popcorn, a free t-shirt, and they’ll meet Matt after the game.

Anholt will also run a drop-in ball hockey game every Tuesday from 6:30-7:30pm at the Boys & Girls Club on Webber Road throughout the year.

For each point Matt scores $25 will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club courtesy of his sponsors: Fender’s, Ultimate Hockey & Skate, and Shutout Sports Collectibles.  Matt currently has 12 points through 18 games, and picked up 3 points in 3 games this past weekend.

“I’m honoured I can be a part of such a great charitable effort like this,” says Anholt.  “I want to thank my sponsors, and the Warriors for making this possible.  Obviously I have a little pressure now to go out and have a good season, but more importantly I’m just happy I can help out with the kids in our community.”

Anholt is already committed to Alaska-Anchorage for the 2015-16 season (NCAA Div.1), and will be a great role model scholastically for the kids.

“I am very proud of Matt to step up and lead our team in the community off the ice,” says Warriors Head Coach/GM Rylan Ferster.  “He already plays such a strong game, this will add to his desire on the ice.”
