PENTICTON B.C. –  The West Kelowna Warriors headed south Saturday night and were met by a Penticton Vees team determined to keep their perfect Okanagan Cup record intact. Before the halfway mark of the first, Jackson Niedermayer would give the Vees the lead. He would be set up by his brother Joshua and Matteo Costantini. It was then Costantini, recently selected by the Buffalo Sabres in 2020 NHL entry draft, who would provide the Vees with more offence. He was on the receiving end of a Owen Murray set up, his 4th off the Okanagan Cup would put the Vees out in front 2-0.

Penticton would then open the game up in the second period. Stefano Bottini’s 1st would get the ball rolling for the Vees. Finlay Williams would get in on the action with his second of the pre-season. Ryan Upson would quickly follow up on WIlliams efforts just 2:19 later. Bottini would add to his point total chipping in on the lone assists.

The Vees would finish up their offensive output just after the midway point of the third. Devlin O’Brien would tuck one home short side to extend the Vees lead to 6-0. Yaniv Perets stood strong in net for Penticton, turning away all 29 shots he faced.

The Warriors are back in action next week versus the Vernon Vipers. The first of a two game set goes Friday night at Kal Tire Place. Puck drop is at 6:00pm. Warriors fans can enjoy the game on the Shaw Spotlight channel as well as HockeyTV and Mixlr.
