West Kelowna, B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club announced on Thursday that the team has traded Defensemen Tyler Pang (’99) to the Surrey Eagles of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) in exchange for future considerations.

Pang, 19, played in 24 games as a Warrior this season amassing 2 goals and 8 assists for 10 points. He came to the Warriors in trade this past offseason after spending last season in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) splitting time with both the Sherwood Park Crusaders and the Olds Grizzlys.

The Victoria, BC native has played in a total of 66 Junior A hockey games in his career. In those 66 games he has combined for 10 goals and 32 assists for a total of 42 points.

“It’s extremely difficult to lose Tyler from our dressing room this week,” Stated Warriors Head Coach and General Manager Geoff Grimwood, “I have been impressed with Tyler’s maturity and overall character both on and off the ice this season. We are just in a situation where we do not have enough ice to give Tyler night in and night out and he needs to be given the opportunity to play.”

The Warriors would like to thank Tyler for his contributions to the team as well as the City of West Kelowna and wish him all the best in his future endeavors with the Surrey Eagles.

The Warriors return back to home ice on Friday night as they welcome their interior Division rival Vernon Vipers to town. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 PM with tickets available for purchase. Visit the West Kelowna Warriors website and check out our new ticketing system where you can pick and choose your own seats.
