WENATCHEE, WAS. – The Wenatchee Wild snap their five game losing streak after defeating the West Kelowna Warriors 4-3 in overtime Saturday night.

It was another solid start for the Warriors who scored the first goal of the game on the power play. A simple shot from the left side circle by Brandon Dent was initially stopped by Wild goaltender Noah Altman, but Max Bulawka was able to collect the rebound and put it past the big 6’7 goaltender to make it 1-0. A minute later the Wild would answer back with Tyler Young receiving a pass in the slot from Brett Chorske to tie it up heading into the dressing room. Warriors got a scare late in the first with Jacob Brockman colliding with another player. Brockman would not return to the game.

It was an interesting start to the second period with both teams getting themselves in penalty trouble. First the Wenatchee Wild were able to make it 2-1 after scoring a power play goal from second year forward Hunter Hastings. The Warriors would answer back with a power play tally of their own from John Evans after Max Bulawka found him with the cross ice pass. The Wild would regain the lead two minutes later with Luke Ormsby scoring his 3rd of the season with only 4 games played in the BCHL. Yet again the Warriors answered back with Ryan Novecosky firing a shot through traffic passing everyone including Wild goaltender Noah Altman to tie the game again. Shots on goal after two periods 21-17 Wild.

The third period had chances for both clubs but goaltenders Brock Baier and Noah Altman stood tall keeping the game tied at 3 forcing overtime. In the extra frame the Warriors were able to get a couple scoring chances but then found themselves in the penalty box for the 8th time. During the man advantage a shot was fired from the right circle stopped by Baier but Hunter Hastings was able to capitalize on the rebound to give the Wild a 4-3 victory in overtime. The Warriors would still head home happy taking 3 out of 4 points South of the border.
