WEST KELOWNA B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors get back on track picking up a thrilling victory over the Penticton Vees Friday night. Stellar goal tending lead the way courtesy of former Windsor Spitfire Brock Baier.

1st Period: It was a wild start to the game with Vees goaltender Jack LaFontaine making a crucial mistake giving the puck away to forward Parm Dhaliwal leading to an easy Chase Dubois goal scoring his 5th of the season to give the Warriors the 1-0 lead only a minute into the game. Three minutes later the Vees would answer back with a Eric Linell goal off a Kenny Johnson pass which would tie the game up at one. Only a couple more minutes later the Vees would strike off a Warriors turnover in their own zone leading to yet another Eric Linell goal giving the Vees a 2-1 lead, but it would be short lived with Warriors Mike Hardman capitalizing on a juicy rebound from a Tyler Pang point shot tying the game up at two. The Vees got themselves in penalty trouble late in the period giving the Warriors a 1:18 two man advantage. After numerous chances the Warriors couldn’t get the puck past Vees goaltender Jack LaFontaine until late in the power play where Chase Dubois roofed his second of the evening giving the Warriors the 3-2 lead going into the break. Shots on goal after one, 15-15.

2nd Period: The second period slowed down big time with clubs not wanting to take any chances. Play was mostly controlled by the Vees out shooting the Warriors 18-5 with Warriors goaltender Brock Baier making numerous saves through traffic, but nothing was getting past the Wallace, Ontario native.

3rd Period: Warriors started the period short handed and were able to provide Brock Baier with support throughout by blocking shots and poking pucks loose. A notable moment in the game took place in the final ten minutes when Warriors captain Cavin Tilsley dove in front of a James Miller slap shot which clearly knocked the wind out of him. The fans in Royal LePage Place erupted during that moment that gave the Warriors the extra juice they needed to finish the game. Great penalty killing and incredible goal tending in the third propelled the Warriors to a much needed regulation victory at home.
